Start with the facial gym

Forget your bum cheeks, it's time to give your face cheeks a workout. Those once-plump pillows can be puffed up again with some simple toning exercises. Every morning and evening, stand in front of the mirror and smile. But not just any smile. A forced smile, very exaggerated and pronounced. Hold for 10 seconds, and repeat five times. Then, puff out your cheeks for a maximum of 10 seconds and repeat five times. Finish with a massage using both hands in a circular movement just above the cheekbones and progressively descend to the centre of the cheeks. Those slack cheeks will soon be perky again.

Apply a nutritious face mask

This very nutritious homemade treatment of yoghurt; an excellent firming agent; and aloe vera; a powerful moisturiser; will help your cheeks to tone up gradually. Mix 4 tablespoons of natural yoghurt with 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel to form a paste and apply to the face. Leave for 20 minutes then rinse off with warm water. Your skin will be soft, hydrated and plumper.

Cheat with contouring make-up

With a few strokes of a foundation brush, illuminator and blusher, you can sculpt your face and redefine its features, creating plumper cheeks. Use foundation darker than your natural skin tone to create a shadow below the cheekbone and blend a highlighter on the bone, following the structure of the bones for the most natural result. If you're concerned about over-Kardashianing your contouring, you could miss the shading step and only add a highlighter above the bone. Efficient and fast: as if by magic, the hollows of the cheeks are more prominent and the cheekbones appear higher.
