The ultimate anti-ageing regime for mature skin

The skin of a 50 year old has different needs than someone aged 25 - and it should have a different routine to beauty regime to match. Here's what we suggest :

Cleanser :

Firstly, try to avoid tap water when you can, which is rich in limescale that can damage the epidermis. Opt instead for a gentle milk or oil-based cleanser instead, that can simply be removed with cotton wool. This will soothe the skin and rid it of impurities such as pollution, tobacco and make-up.

Day cream :

Use an anti-ageing treatment designed for mature skin that will nourish and protect, stimulate cell renewal and brighten the complexion. You can choose which one according to your needs; anti-wrinkle, anti-blemish, anti-fatigue, regenerating, soothing and so forth. Anti-ageing serums are also a great option as they are densely packed with active ingredients, boosting the moisturising action of creams, and making skin feel more comfortable. Pat a few drops of your chosen serum into the skin, before following with a suitable day cream.

Night cream :

Choose a rich night cream that will regenerate and deeply nourish your skin while you sleep. Massage the product in, taking your time to knead and gently pummel the skin to get the blood flow going, thus stimulating new cell production. A few drops of face oil on top of your night cream can provide a protective barrier to prevent dry air from pulling moisture out of the skin. A few times a week, apply a leave-on, moisturising face mask ; this will hydrate and nourish the skin while you sleep, as well as making it more supple. And don't forget to dab on a little an eye contour treatment as this fragile zone dries out quickly.
