Skincare routine: when less is more!

Skincare therapy: cleansers, treatments, scrubs... Sometimes we don't need to bring out the heavy artillery, but simply go back to basics for an effective skincare routine. Less work for an even peachier skin!

Facial cleansing

- wash your face if you haven't first removed your make up.
- follow the same skincare therapy routine morning and night.
- cleanse your skin with an inappropriate product. Forget shower gels and soap, which won't necessarily be suited to your skin type.- think that a quick swipe with a cotton pad will be enough to remove any grime.
- rinse your face with tap water. Your skin will feel stretched and you'll regret it!   

- follow a skincare routine each evening (even if you're not wearing make up), as a good cleanse it THE best anti-ageing preemptive strike! Impurities that clog pores alongside make up residues will prevent any skin type from maintaining its natural glow.- go easy in the morning. Our skin barrier regenerates during the night, so we don't want to strip it off the next morning. A dash of cleanser will do the trick.
- opt for a texture that suits your skin type. A lotion for dry/mature skin, a face oil for normal/oily skin, micellar water for sensitive skin and a foaming cleanser or gel for oily skin.
- take your time to enjoy a moment of pleasure and skin therapy. Cleanse your face with a cotton pad by gently wiping it outwards across your face and repeating until all grime is gone. If you're using a foaming cleanser or oil, gently massage it in. It'll give your circulation a boost and leave you with a lovely, rosy complexion.
- finish off with a toner or thermal water
- both will prevent your skin from feeling stretched.   

Eye make up removal

Don't:- hit the sack without removing your make up or convince yourself that you'll gain time by waking up with 'ready-made smokey eyes'.
- rub your eyes when removing make up. They'll only end up irritated and sensitive.   

- religiously remove your eye make up. Make up contains a high concentration of pigments that can be toxic when left on skin for too long.
- be gentle, particularly around the highly fragile eye contour zone. The more you rub, the more damage you'll do! Simply apply your make up remover to a cotton pad, place it on your eyes and let it penetrate your eye lashes. Don't rub it in. Carefully wipe it off, working from the inner to outer corner of your eyes.  

Moisturise your face

- choose a face cream because it smells nice and has cool packaging.
- only apply a face cream when your skin feels tight or itchy.- slather it on in a hurry.   

- choose a cream adapted to your needs: anti-blemish, anti-wrinkle, anti-ageing, mattifying, brightening, anti-fatigue. Select the product according to the season - a lighter cream for summer and a richer one for winter months.
- appy a moisturiser both morning and night, even if you don't think your skin needs it. In the evening, you can always replace your usual night cream with a more concentrated serum.
- take time to apply your cream. Make sure your skin is clean and dry and dab a bit on to your forehead, chin, cheeks and neck.

Don't forget your cleavage, as this zone also needs moisturising. Gently massage in your cream, working out from the centre of your face and using circular movements with your fingertips. 

Using a scrub

- exfoliate once a month - every couple of days is better.
- assume that only oily skin will benefit from a scrub.
- don't scrub your skin to death, leaving it red and crying out for help.   

- follow a regular skincare routine. Scrub once or twice a week - leaving a few days in between is best for really dry skin.
- use a scrub suited to your skin type. No, scrubs aren't just for oily skin! Scrubbing not only cleans skin
- it's also great for evening out skin texture, zapping imperfections, smoothing skin, getting rid of a sallow complexion and giving your circulation a good boost.
- be gentle. Silky soft skin needs silky soft skin therapy!
- massage on your scrub using light, circular movements.

Don't go mad on your T-zone and avoid the eye contour.
